ASUS GT-AXE11000 cuts internet speed over LAN 2,5gbs to ~100Mbits

ASUS GT-AXE1100 as AP coneccted to GT-AX6000 by ethernet - between them installed switch TP-Link 2.5G
The problem is the intenet speed over ethernet on AXE1000
When i connect the GT-6000 to the LAN 2.5G the download speed is limited to ~100Mb/s, upload is ok - the same GT-AX6000 ~130Mb/s
When i connect the GT-AX6000 to the WAN port (1G) the speed over LAN is quite faster ~500Mbits
Tried different cables etc
When I connect by WIFI to WIFI6 or 6E the dowload speed is as it supposted to be over 600Mb/s (no difference when the GT-AX6000 is connected to WAN or 2.5G on GT-AXE1000)
What can cause this issue?
Firmware stock, the newest one
Thanks for aplies

When the wifi client is connected, which radio is it connecting to - GTAX6000 or GT-AXE1100 ?

What happens on wired speeds when you are cabled directly to either the GT AX6000 and the GT-AXE1100 without the switch ?

There can be some incompatibilities between different LAN chipsets/drivers that cause issues.

100 Mbit/s link rate or speed test ? The port lights on the router , switch, and AP will tell you the link rate for that port. They are different and will point to different solutions to try.

to the AXE11000 (wifi 6e or wifi 6)

laptop connected directly to AX6000 or with switch intenet speeds (speedtest.net) are as they supposted to be above 500Mb/s / 120Mb/s, nearly WLAN speed
didn't checked the AXE11000 in that case

100Mb/s is the speedtest by ookla
Link rate 2.5G (shows on the GUI and APP on both routers)

When you did the laptop hardwired to the AX6000 or switch, did you turn off your laptop's wifi radio ?

What are the exact firmware versions running for each asus box ?

Yes, wifi off when LAN testing
Firmware ale the last from Asus
Ax6000 3.0.0.6.102_34876
Axe11000 3.0.0.4.388_23932

I was thinking to install Merlin on Axe11000, what do you think?

Testing results: AX6000 connected directly over ethernet to AXE11000:
ODU ZTE 889 2.5G ---cable---->WAN 2.5G AX6000 (main router) LAN 2.5G -----cable----> LAN 2.5G AXE11000 (AP) ---cable---> 1G laptop internet speed test by ookla ~90Mb/s D | 120Mb/s U
---WIFI 6 or 6E 2,4G ~internet speed test by ookla over600Mb/s D | 120Mb/s U

ODU ZTE 889 2.5G ---cable---->WAN 2.5G AX6000 (main router) LAN 2.5G -----cable----> WAN\LAN 1G AXE11000 ---cable---> 1G laptop ~internet speed test by ookla ~250Mb/s D | 120Mb/s U
---WIFI 6 or 6E 2,4G ~internet speed test by ookla over 600Mb/s D | 120Mb/s U

the same results when i connect the TP LINK 5port Switch 2.5G between routers so its not the case.
The strange thing is that the upload internet speed is always the same and as it supposed to be :/

Merlin not likely to make a difference. Would be better, perhaps , if both were on same code branch - e.g. 3004 or 3006

It's feels like NAT acceleration is turned off for the hardwired connection. Any QOS enabled ?

Do you have two machines you could run iPerf ( v2 if windows OS, v3 if linux ) to test the bandwidth from a PC connected directly to the switch over to the laptop and then a second case , PC connected to the AX6000 LAN ports and back to the laptop. i would run both tests without the interposing switch and then with. you will need to use the -P switch with a value at least 6 or maybe 10 to saturate the Gbit links.

Have any of your firmware upgrades been "dirty" ? ie not factory reset and manually configured after update, particularly if major version change .

Or maybe just run this way and call it a day ?

Where do I find this option?
No, everything its turned off, QOS etc

OK i will check this.

I bought the routers with these firmwares so i didn't do the updates. So i try to reflash the AXE11000 and do the factory reset.

Sorry i was wrong about
"When i connect the GT-AX6000 to the WAN port (1G) the speed over LAN is quite faster ~500Mbits" ,
the results posted on #6 are real.

definitely something is wrong and, it's strange that the speeds over WIFI 6 or 6E are even higher than 2.5G ethernet. I need 2.5G bandwith because of NAS data transferring

Are you using Jumbo Packets anywhere in the LAN ?

i wonder if the issue is the laptop nic , running at 1 Gbit/s , instead of 2.5 Gb/s
Get a USB3 2.5 Gbit/s ethernet adapter and try the testing with that. It does have to be USB3 interface. Also, you could try testing from the NAS ?
Should be able to at least test local LAN connections with NAS if it has a 2.5 Gb/s ethernet port.

Only AXE11000 has Jumbo packets option, no difference on or off
Testing on two different laptops which have 1g LAN card - te result are the same about 100Mbits ( no 100MBs) and of course on AX6000 speed are ok.
So for sure something od limiting speed over LAN on AX11000

tried 2.5G USB-C connected to usb-c on laptop - the same speeds as with connected to bulid one 1G :/

What does the link rate say for the connection with the adapter in windows ? should be under properties and/or status.
You should be able to do the iPerf testing to validate that the local LAN and testing PCs are not the issue also.

The other thing you can try for helping to diagnosing what is going on would be to change the default logging level to all and seeing if something is recorded during the time of a WAN - LAN PC test. Nothing may show up though as it is

Some interesting conversation / adapters discussed here

With build one nic 1G link rate 1G
With usb-c 2.5g link rate 2.5G
Download Internet speed the same about 90-100Mbs upload is ALWAYS OK ~120Mbs

to be precise, i have repalced the RT-AX82U which was configured as AP too, and the internet speed. connected my laptops to lan were as it supossted to be over 500-600Mbs, so i don't think that my problem is related with my LAN.
