I updated mine via the Web GUI on my computer. I got a pop up after the upgrade that I needed to restart the 98 Pro manually. I don't remember having that happen with previous upgrades. Did a powercycle at the router, and everything came up as expected. The last 3 hours have shown no noticeable difference in operation.

Installed via Web GUI. No reboot needed. Runnig perfectly. Web GUI is more snappy. No ptoblems at all.

I'm seeing the same thing. I didn't play with it much right after the install, but looking through things more last night, this is definitely the case.

This firmware fixed the issue where my 5ghz devices showed as hardwired instead of wireless but it did require a reboot.

This morning I had a complete wireless crash, The lan was working fine but all wireless radios crashed and never recovered. A reboot was the only way to fix.

In the log repeated entries of: failed to get chanim resultsret code: -19

Any ideas on this?

As a followup, after the cold reboot, an hour or so later the same thing happened. The wirless channels just dissappear.

Switched to Merlin's Beta 2 release, its perfect

Well today my wifi 7 devices are showing hard wired again....

Did an update today. Got GT-BE98 Pro in AP mode running with three ZenWiFi BQ16 Pro in mesh. It asked for a manual reboot at the end. Web interface is now on DHCP instead of my fixed IP I setup. The previous mac address is not showing up in my gateway. When trying to log in to GT-BE98 Pro on a new IP address the user/password no longer works. Tried default password and got nothing. Everything else appears to be working well however. All WiFi devices are connected and working. Just no way to log in anymore. I'm also running a LAG to it on both 10G links from my switch. Not sure what is causing wrong credentials but I'll likely have to reset to factory next time an update is released.

UPDATE on this Firmware:

After several resets and hand entering my settings I am 100% positive that the Broadcom Drivers for the BE-98PRO are crashing causing all wifi to go down. I reset and hand entered 5 times now with the same result. It happens from 10 hours in to 4 days. Router shows connected, wired TV's are operational. All wireless devices disconnect and even though the wirless bands are visible
you can reconnect to some of them but there is no internet. Wired devices remain online and connected to the internet. An unplug and plug in is the only way to bring the network back.

Dropped down to FW_GT_BE98_PRO_300610238984 firmware and everything is perfect. Runnig now 7 days no problems.

This is a heads up for others that are pulling their hair out with the same problem.

Another update: Now using Merlin 102.6 firmware and have not experienced these wireless crashes. I believe the wireless drivers may be the same unless I am mistaken. I cannot see how the same crashes would not happen on the Merlin firmware. Any ideas out there?

Asuswrt and Asuswrt-Merlin bases are not in sync. Hopefully this "feature" doesn't arrive to Asuswrt-Merlin.
