Release ASUS GT-BE98-PRO Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_39249

You don't have even 24h uptime on this firmware. Was the router dropping wireless so often on other firmware versions so you had to reboot every day? If this is the case I would say something is wrong with your router and you may need to contact ASUS Support for RMA. Definitely not normal operation.
It was only with the ASUS GT-BE98 Pro Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_39112 stock firmware. Merlin .6 and .7 no problems. I am not the only one with this problerm on that firmware.

So far so good will monitor closely and report back.

Okay, got it. Seams like this firmware in particular has different issues if it was removed by ASUS. This is the latest available now on ASUS Support:

Hmmm... Went to check my Deco app. There's also an "r" apparently...

In this build ASUS mentioned about the improvement:
Enhanced stability for 2.5G LAN/WAN port operations.
I see this issue on my mesh node always. Hope they fixed it really.

The 3.0.0.6.102_39249 firmware is running rock solid (2 days). Solid wireless with not one drop out of any of my 44 devices. This is so much better than the 39112 firware that is now over 4 months old.

By now the 39112 firware would have had dropped loT devices and a total freeze of wireless and a reboot would have been needed to bring everything back up.

My setup has 4 VLAN's, MLO as well as the normal 2.4, 5.0, 6.0 and 6.1 networks. AI protection is on. DNS over Tls is on. I will keep monitoring and report in with an update.

@cc666 Do you know why they pulled it?...

I have no idea, the way that was up made it look like a firm release.

It could have been an internal release or maybe a beta? This firmware fixes (so far) all my problems. That release they have up now should be removed, many people are haveing problems with it.

My guess is that any day the new release will reappear. I check every day.

Typically beta firmware starts with 9, and the release changes that first digit to 3. That said I have received firmware for this model with 3, and was told it was beta....

To me it looks like a release firmware. 9 is definitly the Beta number. 3 is the release number.

I wish people would report these issues somewhere... While I can't promise a fix will come of it...

I monitor three forums:

ROG
ZenTalk
here

Whenever an issue is reported for the GT-BE98 Pro or GT-BE19000Ai I try to quickly report it to the friend I have there, (the one who sent me them)....

I have noted and reported an issue with 2.5 Gb Ethernet on EBM68 iPerf test but have yet to see it repaired...

Meh you made me search for it before I read through all of the posts....:p

It's hard to grasp why the GT-BE19000 (non-Ai version) has a very similar version available, since Feb 4, but a month later and not available here in the US.

There's a saying misery loves company. Dropping WiFi isn't exclusive to ASUS routers apparently:

Most definitely. I see some differences in this specific comparison though. Deco BE63 is currently $280 for 2-pack ($300 - $20 coupon), GT-BE98 Pro is $700 for single unit. The other forum has TP-Link support person trying to assist (the person with issue never replied to them), our forum has no ASUS support presence (our folks with issues complain to each other). Perhaps the ROG forum is the better place to report issues?

ROG is staffed by ASUS employees/execs on a rotating basis. (Not always the same person is watching Networking each year). Right now they are very responsive to Ai router feedback over there....

Sometimes depending on who they'll refer non-gaming router questions to ZenTalk, also ASUS staffed. Initially I spent all my time on ROG. ZenTalk appears to have more questions I have answers to nowadays. Here, there are a lot that know more than me....

@Rabbit-Spec, wrong forum... 🫣

Router uptime update. Now into 3 days of absolutley rock solid router experience. Not 1 drop on anything on my network. My 5 cameras come up lightening fast. My 12 smartswitches are rock solid. No wifi outage, finally everyhting is working as it should be. I would have had 2 reboots by now on the 112 firmware. I have 4 VLAN's, 3 outside of the network and one inside. All working flawlessly. I even have 2 wired connections on a VLAN outside of the network for my 2 wired TV's, again perfect.

To me this shoud be released to the public.

@cc666 and @jzchen why do you guys don't share a public link with the newest firmware to more people test it? I'm very excited to install it here as well, because I have some issues like you with the "previous".

We cannot do that, it is NOT allowed on these forums.
