Asus nt-16 clearing nvram

Rpony

Occasional Visitor
upgraded this router to newer tomato from easy tomato. But, clearing nvram didn't work 100%. If I unplug this router and hold wps button for thirty seconds will it clear the nvram? Our should I use the gui to reset it again. Or both?
Any quick help would be appreciated.

If Tomato is working I'd use the advanced web gui option to clear nvram 'thorough'. On reboot the CFE applies its own defaults, then the firmware adds its own. In the firmware upgrade screen isn't there an option to automatically clear the nvram, so the new firmware starts with a clean sheet? The RT-N16 does still have restricted 32kB NVRAM, so a good percentage will be used by default.
