ASUS RT-68P VPN Issue - Again

I am new to the VPN process. I have an ASUS RT-AC68P that I am attempting to get linked up to my network. I have tried a variety of methods. I am OpenVPN now and having the same issue. I can connect to the router fine... but, can't see anything on the network. Can't map a drive... nothing! I want to be able to access network assets when away from work. For some reason... I think this should work. Am I wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
