Asus RT-AC66U Network Advice

New Around Here
I'm looking to find some links/advice on the best firmware setup on the rt-ac66u routers. The main router is currently using the latest firmware of merlin at the time of this post (RT-AC66U_3.0.0.4_376.49_5.trx).

I have two of the routers and am stuck in a house that needs a wider range for wifi and would to use one for the best usage with a smart-tv (non at the moment but will be down the road). The home computers are all apple machines. Any advice that people have found useful in their own setups is greatly appreciated.

Use one as a router and the other as an AP, connect by an Ethernet cable, connected to the LAN (not WAN) port of each router.

+1 on what JoeJoe said. But if you can't/don't want to pull cables, you can always uses the second unit as a repeater
