Hello all. This is a spare router I was playing with. It runs the current version of Merlin. Yesterday all was well and today no link lights come on and the Internet connection light stays red. I can connect to a PC and log into Merlin, however, the no link light is lit on the back of the router. I reset to factory defaults with no luck.

If I could still use the Internet it would not be a big deal but that does not work at all.

Any ideas welcome.

thanks, Bj

...and turned off the router for 1 minute, and then reconfigured manually?

Hi

After re-flashing back to OFW when the network cable is plugged in the router says "Your ISP's DHCP does not function properly" instead of "The network cable is unplugged" message. If I take the network cable and plug it into the back of my working router it works fine.

Does that message offer any information towards solving this?

thanks, Bj

Is this now a simple case of needing to cycle power on the upstream/WAN device/modem?

Well, sir that was it! I think got confused because I could plug the cable back into a working router and the internet was fine. That last error message should have tipped me off however I am grateful for your help. I have no link/traffic leds however that I can live with.

thanks, Bj
