Hello everyone! For those who have already updated to this firmware, can you tell me if the Wi-Fi issue persists or has it been fixed?

Hi,

What Wi-Fi issue are you talking about ?

I bought 3 Asus RT AX59U few months ago to make a good wifi mesh, but I have a lot of Wifi issues. The connection seems good with the wifi strength, but I can load a simple webpage. Cameras loose often signals...

I need to disconnect and reconnect Wifi on my devices to have a good internet speed, but few minutes after that, it begin again...

I send a message to Asus support, but I don't have any answer yet...

So disappointed !

The last successful firmware update was version 3.0.0.4.388_33407. Four firmware updates have been released since then, and all of them have issues with Wi-Fi internet access. I also contacted Asus support, and here's their response: "Thank you for the information, it's been forwarded to the RD department for review and testing."

I seen the same problems with my AX59U on the latest 965 firmware, e.g. intermittent problems with web pages that didn't seem to load, and problems casting via Chromecast.

I've had a bumpy ride with this router all along, but the broken experience since march, which lasted (and is lasting) through 4 firmware updates, and thus having to revert to year-old firmware really pushed me over the edge. I've since bought some UniFi equipment, and... man... that's just a whole different level. I can't believe I've put up with Asus for so long. No more chances.

I wanted to share that at least in my configuration with RT-AX59U as a stand-alone router, this firmware version resolved the partial site loading issues I experienced with several earlier firmware versions. After the update, I performed a reset and manual reconfiguration.

How long have you been running the 965 firmware? Because while I don't recall seeing the problems on my own phone in the timespan of several hours in the course of a day I used 965, some other clients reported seeing the same issues, even when not having been informed that I did the upgrade.

I also ran the router in standalone mode. I didn't do a hard reset after going from 950->965, however, so strictly speaking I guess I cannot rule out that the firmware might actually have solved the problems. I did do a hard reset after going from 407->950, though.

But looking at other peope's experience it would seem there are indeed still problems - at least in some configurations.

Six days of heavy usage in a row, and still no loading issues. In earlier versions, I usually ran into them after about an hour.
I had no issues with v3.0.0.4.388_33950 on my TUF AX6000, but I found out that it was because I was using a VPN all along (configured on the router directly), and I still cannot understand how using a VPN could have any impact on the WiFi issues. As soon as I disabled the VPN connection to access a website that is blocking VPNs, then forgot to reactivate it, I very quickly ran into the same issues as with previous revisions...

@Volt are you by any chance connecting through a VPN enabled on the router itself?

Just a quick update - it's the seventh day of uptime, and I've started noticing the same issue with some pages or pictures not loading on the first try (I don't use VPN in any form), though it's happening less frequently than in previous versions! There's a very small chance that this is my ISP and merely a coincidence, but I believe you were correct: the issue still persists with this firmware. Fortunately, I have a spare RT-AX82U, which has never given me similar issues, so I’ll replace the 59U with it today to confirm that the problem isn’t with my ISP.

@Volt you motivated me to eventually test the latest v3.0.0.4.388_33965 release.
I first upgraded from 3.0.0.4.388_33427 (latest stable version) to 3.0.0.4.388_33950 (previous version, requiring a factory reset), then performed a hard factory reset and uploaded the settings file I had configured with 3.0.0.4.388_33950, then eventually upgraded to 3.0.0.4.388_33965.

It has been running fine for 2,5 hours so far, no issues noticed within such a short timespan, but I'll keep testing of course.

If you would be willing to have the router reboot once or twice a week, this latest FW revision may work for you, provided you have a 7-day stability each time. I still find it fascinating that Asus was still not able to fix this issue...

I have the same problem with websites not loading, playing movies on my ASUS TUF-AX4200 router with firmware 3.0.0.4.388_33965.
It seems to me that the router is getting stuck.
Before uploading the new firmware, I performed a hard reset from the website and then via the VPS button, I performed the same reset after uploading the new firmware. I always did the settings manually, I did not use the recovery file with the settings.
I have my router set to reboot every night.
Downgrading to the older firmware 3.0.0.4.388_33506 solves the problems.
