I searched the forum for an answer to my question but was unable to find one.
I have an Asus RT-N66U running the most current firmware of 378.50. I've recently encountered a problem staying connected to an ip cam located outside, high up on the eve of my shed pointing down the driveway. I would estimate that the camera is 80-90 feet from the router and my home is a single story, wood frame rancher about 1400 sq ft. This cam has never given me a problem in over a years time but started after I upgraded to 378.50. I can move it closer to the router and it works just fine. I have 5 other cameras that are closer to the router and have no problems with them.
It was suggested that I consider a Asus RT-N12 and operate it in repeater mode placing it in line of sight of the outside camera. I've watched a couple of You Tube videos on setup but I'm not clear if I assign the RT-N12 a new SSID and or IP address. Also, the cameras are all on port forwarding on the main RT-N66U and I don't know what to do there.
Thank you.
Ed
