ASUS RT-N66R - change client name on connected clients

JohnT

Occasional Visitor
Is there a way to change the client list on the connected clients listing page to something more meaningful. Many times it shows numbers that don't have a useful meaning. I would like to label them such as John's Main PC, etc.

Thank you,
john

Try this:

Go to LAN > DHCP Server and Enable Manual Assignment.

Then choose the MAC address of the device, give it an IP address that is within your pool range (192.168.1.2 to 254 by default), and then give it a name. Hit add and apply.

Reboot everything and give it a few minutes to take effect.
