ASUS RT-N66U admin interface not accessible following firmware update

Needed a Media Bridge and my N66U B1 has been working well for that purpose, but today I went-in to the admin page (using http://192.168.1.2/Main_Login.asp as I always have) and found New Firmware Available, in my case 3.0.0.4_382_52711 where I'd been running 52272 before. The upgrade appeared to work fine, and I got an "Firmware successful ... do a manual Reboot" instead of being presented with the login page again.

I powered-off and back on again and it booted-up, but I no longer have access to the admin login page; keep getting "unable to connect", though the Bridge mode is still working just fine and the IP addy pings etc. I asked Grok.ai for help but no-way-no-how can I get in and it seems I face a Factory Reset and then reasserting settings from scratch. Any better ideas for me? I'm disappointed that ASUS would not have warned me if the upgrade was going to change e.g. the security access somehow; certainly there was nothing in the release notes about it.

The latest firmware for this router is version 3.0.0.4.382_52747:

Reset and reconfigure. Read the release notes. Setting up Media Bridge is like 2min time.

Have you tried connecting a device using a LAN Ethernet port on the Media Bridge?

This router was many firmware versions behind. Reset and reconfigure for Media Bridge is the fastest fix.

My PC is is hard-wired into the 66U but that doesn't work.

@Tech9 yeah I will reset and re-config as you say. Funny the ASUS itself only offered the 52711. I noticed afterwards when surfing the support site that it was still several updates behind. I was surprised to see them knowing the N66U is old old old. Though it works way better in bridge mode than the Netgear I had tried before!

Thanks for the feedback.
