So after my D-Link DIR855 did a suicide run and killed both itself and a fuse, i had to buy a new router.
From the reviews i had read the Asus RT-N66U looked like a good performer so i went with that, and so far its been good.
No issues with choking up when under heavy stress and the wireless performance is good on both 2,4 and 5 GHz band.
But it could do better on the upload part.
Heres a bunch of speedtests i did to show you what i mean.
Direct connection from PC to my FiOS modem:
Same cable from my FiOS modem to router, then cable to PC:
Changed cable from router to PC:
Same cable from my FiOS modem to router, then wireless 2,4GHz N to PC.
Pingtest from 2,4GHz N:
I could use my other wireless router, a D-Link DIR825 but it chokes on high load.
So anyone know what could be the issue causing the slower upload speeds?
My firmware is the official v3.0.0.3.112 on the Asus router.
