Asus Zen Wi-Fi BT10 mDNS?

I set up a VLAN for some of my IoT devices. I have a Samsung microwave on there now.. I wanted to add my Chromecast devices. I can't get it to work where where I can cast from my main Network. So essentially I can't cross-cast across the networks.

Access intranet I kept disabled. IGMP is enabled so is Multicast Routing.

So again all I am trying to do is isolate my Chromecast devices on a VLAN but have the ability to cast from my phones to the TV.

It's very possible I'm missing something cuz I'm kind of green at this. Also, maybe the router doesn't support it properly. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated. Thank you..

I have the latest firmware on this as well(September 2025).

All of the devices that need to talk to each other over local wifi have to be on the same subnet set up for the VLAN that the chromecast devices are on.
If they are directly talking to each other, then it should not matter, bluetooth pairing for example..

You can't have it both ways. Either the IoT network is isolated from the main LAN or it's not.
So even by enabling multicast routing on the IoT network the main network isn't allowed to "discover" and initiate a connection to the Chromecast on the IoT network? I thought the router's firewall sees this as a trusted initiated action and allows it. I think there's a way to do it. I think there might be a way to do this. Problem is I don't know quite what I'm doing yet. I'm trying to figure this out. I have a good configuration file saved and I can go back to If I need to if I screw something up.

Sorry, I thought you were referring to the multicast routing option on the LAN - IPTV page. That's only for the WAN connection. My router doesn't run the 3.0.0.6.102 firmware so if there's a new option for multicast routing in the IoT settings I don't know how that works.

That option is on the LAN- IPTV page. I think I need to set up a static IP for the Chromecast. I'm trying to get info on this. It's not easy. Especially for me. So essentially all I was trying to do was put my Google streamers/ Chromecast on a VLAN but just allow devices on the main Network to talk/cast. I could still use the remote but I like to cast from my phone sometimes. That's all I was trying to set up. I thought there was a way I could do this through the settings.
