Release ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_36602 (2025/05/05)

Thanks!

Do you people always reboot the router and node(s) after upgrading the firmware?

I am having an issue with my Lifx lights. They are not able to connect to my network after upgrading to 3.0.0.6.102_36602. I had the same issue with 3.0.0.6.102_36597. I had to revert back to 3.0.0.4.388_24610 for everything to work.

What's funny now is that my download speed has been cut in half and my upload speed is showing up fully, despite both of them being 1gbps up/down when tested in the QoS speed test. Have restarted my router & node multiple times.

Did you try turning off your router and node, then rebooting your modem/gateway, then restarting your router and node after the modem/gateway finished booting? That fixed the issue for me.

Interesting. I'll try doing it that way.
Edit: Tried it, didn't make a difference.

I've had significant issues since the upgrade - dropping connection frequently and frequent slow connection. I reset both my primary router and node after the upgrade, but at this stage I'm going to downgrade - it made working on Friday nearly impossible.

Sorry to hear that. For me only 1 firmware update has worked since i bought this router where the lights were the correct color and the speed was great. Each subsequent update has been either wrong color lights or not getting full speed.

Sorry to hear about your issues. Here, so far, rock solid. Overall better connections.over wifi as compared to previous version. Let's hope it stays like this.

Thanks, did you take any extra steps aside from upgrading to 36597, then to 36602, and factory reset the node and main router?

No extra steps, no reset. Just a manual re-boot that I do always on new firmwares.

Thanks - I manually re-installed 36602 on both node and router (I had used the ASUS OTA upgrade previously), manually reset again and started fresh. So far I'm seeing much more stable speeds, hopefully they'll stay that way :)

I have been debating on whether or not to pull the trigger on this new firmware update (actually, it will be a two-step update, as, apparently I can't go directly to the latest 3.0.0.6.102_36602 without first updating to 3.0.0.6.102_36597, which seems ridiculous to me. I am currently on 3.0.0.4.388_24610, which has served me well since I initially installed my dual device mesh network (1 router + 1 node) last year. I also have not rebooted this network in at least 6 months, 208 days to be exact! Firmware 3.0.0.4.388_24610 just seems to work flawlessly for me. Or, I'm just not smart enough to notice the bugs or deficiencies?

I don't know what the Chrome UI issue is that these updates are supposed to fix?

Or the IoT issue? - Other than it taking days or weeks for my IoT devices to shake out and evenly distribute to both devices, I have had zero issues. I started out with a wired backhaul, but have since switched to the 6GHz wireless, and it has been without issue.

Is it worth upgrading (twice) to get this latest firmware? I'm typically the kind of person who always applies the latest updates to everything, but this one has me very hesitant. I have 61 devices hanging on this network, and I really don't feel like messing with success. I've never been a fan of the old adage, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", but in this case, I may make an exception.

Should I apply the two firmware updates or not?
Thoughts?
Thank you!

IMO this update will likely break your network, and while it is very possible to get everything working smoothly again it takes time, frustration, and energy to do so.

I've found this latest build much more stable for my IoT devices. I, like you, have a lot of devices on my network, 120+ at any one time. My IoT network connects and devices stick and find the closest AP much better. Granted I have a be96u router and three ET12's as mesh nodes. I mainly upgraded to take advantage of VLANS. Although I can't assigned vlans to individual ports I can configure my systems to support vlan sub-interfaces as all the tagged and untagged information is sent down the wire to the ET12's. This enables me "dual-home" my home automation systems (Home Bridge, Home assistant) with a single interface. It was a pretty seamless upgrade for me, and well worth it, but as with all upgrades YMMV.
