Hi,

I have a Super AG (108Mbps) dual-band router based network that I’m looking to expand. I was wondering if I buy an Atheros 802.11n based gear if my Super AG adapters would still function @108 Mbps or roll back to 54Mbps.

I’m also planning to bridge the eventual 802.11n gear with my Super AG router and was hoping to do so at 108Mbps.

Thank you for your time

Super-G adapters will be treated as normal 802.11g, i.e. 54 Mbps.

If you are going to use a Super-G router forced to Turbo mode with a draft 11n router forced to 40MHz channel mode, you would not be happy. Keep the Super-G router out of Turbo and the draft 11n router in its 20 MHz channel mode.

Then, I suppose I should try hard to find an identical SuperAG router to stay at 108Mbps. I don't see any point having an N router that makes everything fall back to 54Mbps...
