AX11000 & obtaining 2Gbit throughput via LAN PORTS - See below.

I have and AX11000 and would like to use two ports (LAN x or other) so I can obtain a combined throughput of 2Gbit out of the 11000 to connect to a 2.5Gbit switch or 2.5Gbit LAN card in a Linux box.

I know u can utilize link aggregation for the incoming WAN however I need to get 2Gbit OUT of the 11000 - of possible

so I can obtain a combined throughput of 2Gbit

No single connection will exceed Gigabit though. Multithreaded only and/or aggregate from/to multiple clients.

So your saying the dual LAN ports @ 1Gbit each via CAT 8 won't act as a single 2Gbit xfer to a Linux box using dual 1Gbit ports ?

If so then I need to find a wifi router OR access poin that offers LAN ports t har support 2Gbit or > throughput

Nope. LAG offers improved responsiveness to multiple simultaneous clients interacting with a server. It is not 1+1=2, more like 1+1=1 for single client

If your speed needs are local, just get a managed switch for all the LAN clients, including APs ( you may want POE ports or injectors), and let it handle the LAN. Then a single uplink to whatever router is suitable for your ISP speed. Upgrade NICs in your clients as/where needed.

Agreed. I just came up with an idea that I used prior to moving to where I lived. Yes..I just upgraded all NIC'S to 5Gbit - I got a killer deal from Uncle Sam [AKA FermiLab / work] - from some upgraded equipment.

With Metronet Static IP:

INET FTTH------->-PON-------->CAT 8 to Zentynal Linux box [WAN] NIC---------[HANDLES ROUTER/IDS/GW/FW/SERVER DUTIES---------->OUT VIA [LAN 1] NIC to ----------->-Mikrotik 8 port 5Gbit switch=====>Primary Equipment (anything needing full bandwidth]

I will gat a WiFi 7 A/P or WiFi router and utilize AP mode only and either give that a 192.168.0.x subnet via [LAN 2] NIC [VLAN] OR just hook it up to that 5Gbit Mikrotik managed switch and assign it to the same subnet 192.168.1.x.

HP Printer, thermostat, entry doors, garage door & TV/Reciver/etc. & crap like that I want on a different subnet [force of habit]. I don't even like to use wifi within a house lol. I'm old school & hardline everything. CAT 8 to every room minus the bathrooms then wall plates for each. Even the kitchen dishwasher, fridge & stove have Inet capability... lol. I don't go that far and hook those up.

I have HP 4 port 2.5Gbit switch I can use for all that equipment that doesn't need or support a Gbit even.

Tnx for the info

I have assisted recently in purchasing hardware for a small home 2.5GbE and Wi-Fi 7 capable network, it's really simple with 4 devices only from Ubiquiti - 2x UX7* + 2x USW-Flex-2.5G-8. No PoE, uses 4x included USB-C power adapters.

ISP -> UX7 (Gateway, Controller, Access Point) + USW-Flex-2.5G-8 <- Ethernet** -> USW-Flex-2.5G-8 + UX7 (Access Point)

This thing can do 2.3Gbps WAN + IDS and has 14x available 2.5GbE ports (7x at each end). Super small size, power efficient, wife approved, total cost $716 as per Ubiquiti Store US (plus some Ethernet cables purchased additionally). Coverage - it's in a townhouse around 2500sqft total, second UX7 is upstairs on a diaginal somewhat, around 40 wireless devices on different bands, all happy.

* - I was a bit sceptical about this one being new Wi-Fi 7 product, but it works well. No issues with installation and tuning, no one called me back to ask questions. The network has 4x VLANs set for LAN and WLAN for usual Guest, IoT and they wanted restricted NAS to specific devices, but it was done by the owner and I don't know details. Simple home network and inexpensive.

** - don't remember if the link between the switches was 10GbE or 2.5GbE, sorry. Can ask if very important.
