On my router, I turn on nat and access intranet in advanced settings and enable wireguard server. I add a client for phone. From phone, I toggle on the tunnel. I then navigate to a service runing on my LAN using the LAN local IP address. I enter 192.168.1.30:XXXX in browser and it just hangs and won't connect. My understanding is that when connected to the tunnel I should be able to access local resources remotely as if I'm on my LAN.
