AXE16000 10g vs 2.5g port

Is there any reason to use the 10g port over the 2.5g if speeds do not exceed 2.5g?

This might sound stupid but I did not think of that making a difference if one port did indeed have an advantage but it makes sense it could only be beneficial when using the same port on the opposing side.

I have a arris s33 v2 with a 2.5g port

Even with a 2.5GbE Port, I would use it. The latency will be 'up to', 2.5 times less.
