I just bought an iPhone 11 today. It is noticeably faster than my old iPhone 7+ on my Cisco WAP581 wireless AP.

Apple had a deal of $200 trade-in for my old iPhone7+ on a iPhone11 so it cost me $499. I don't miss the button at all. I always pressed too hard for security ID.
 
Just as a comparative data point, using a 802.11ac client (Huawei P30, connected to an Asus RT-AX88U).

OP I don't think you will see too much of a gain with AX vs AC on 5Ghz in terms of raw performance, putting aside WiFi dense environments.

2.4 Ghz is where the biggest difference in performance would be with AX over N. around a 2x gain on 20Mhz from tests I've done though the client was a 2x2 laptop.

I upgraded from a 6s to an 11Pro over the holidays - and it's faster across the board - I'm on ATT, and getting LTE advanced with Carrier Aggregation, and works fine with my Wave2 11ac wifi. Took a couple of days to relearn old habits (gestures vs. home button), and faceID is a nice touch. Miss the headphone jack...
 
I don't use headphones but wife does and she bought the Apple Blue tooth AirPods and likes them real well. She uses my wireless recharge station to charge them.
 
The Huawei p30 supports 160Mhz perhaps - what I can say is that iPhone 11Pro doesn't...

Why are you saying "perhaps"? I posted iperf benchmarks labeled "160 MHz", and I also just wrote that yes, the P30 has 160 MHz support...

Don't understand either the link to my quote regarding the lack of audio jack on my Samsung tablet.

Just distracted and partial attention...

Getting back on track - wonder what chipset is in use with the Huawei P30 (can usually get some clues on the Probe Request Message). I'm not going to assume QCA or Broadcom.

iPhone 11/11Pro - definitely Broadcom WiFi 6, but Apple is writing the drivers...

Might be interesting to some to see what it does on 2.4... HT yes, VHT, not mentioned, but HE...

Right, it's part of their Kirin 980 SoC, developed by HiSilicon (which is owned by Huawei). No AX support (that SoC was launched back at the end of 2018), but does have 160 MHz support.

Oddly enough, even their latest Kirin 990 is AC-only.

Makes sense - if they have a stable 802.11ac radio block in the SoC, they can focus on the 5G-WAN development first.
