BE96U + BE7200

I've been using a primary router + 2 other routers as access points. These have been a combination of various series.

I'm contemplating replacing them all with recent generation devices - specifically the BE96U + two BE7200.

My goals are:
1) Implement Guest network Pro configuration
2) Use dual WAN with failover

This is likely overkill for my needs but I'm OK with that.

Any concerns about this combination of equipment??

My understanding is that the BE7200 is the BestBuy version of the BE88U (I would be using the router exchange 15% offer making the BE7200 about the same cost as a BE86U).

Please let me know any thoughts on this upgrade plan.

TIA!!!

1) Implement Guest network Pro configuration

There is no Guest Network Pro in newer 3006 firmware. It was replaced by Network with similar functionality.

2) Use dual WAN with failover

Dual WAN is known to have issues on Asus routers. It may or may not work reliably for you. If this is critical functionality you are after - look at SMB equipment. For Asus routers with Asuswrt-Merlin firmware this custom script addresses Dual WAN issues, YMMV:

Thank you!!!!

You know RT-BE88U is a dual-band device, correct? This means common 5GHz band limitations apply to it and true Wi-Fi 7 performance will be available on your main tri-band router only. If you think this is overkill and nothing much can use the hardware capabilities - save your money, don't overpay for hardware especially when the upgrade starts with limitations already.
