Be sure you know the difference between "backup" software and "synch" software. The former creates backup data sets- intended to be infrequently used to retrieve a specific folder or file. The latter is intended to keep a small number of folder pairs identical.

Would you guys recommend formatting with Ext4 or NTFS? Does it really matter?

Would you guys recommend formatting with Ext4 or NTFS? Does it really matter?

My experience is that Linux based NASes are quite slow for NTFS formatted disks, as compared to Linux-oriented formats.
