Best/recommended way to set up fully secure WAN access to router?

Hi everyone!

Any tips/pointers on how to set up a fully secure “outside home/LAN”, ie. via WAN access to router (GT-AX6000, stock firmware)?

I only need to access it on my iPhone, via ASUS Router app, nothing else.

I don’t need full LAN access, etc. - just the ability to remotely check in on the router via the app but in a way that’s secure.
OpenVPN or InstantGuard?
If anyone has a “How to” to share, I’d appreciate it.

You can use OpenVPN (needs OpenVPN app), IPSec (built in iOS) or Instant Guard (needs Instant Guard app). Instant Guard* is the easiest.

* - works only with public WAN IP.
