buying advice for a new NAS

Looking to buy a new NAS for local data storage, mainly documents, pictures, applications, videos. At the same time, considering to update my NVR, and unsure if I should be buying two devices or one.

Can the DS1621xs+ handle standard data storage and continuous NVR video writes ?
How strong is the DVA3221 NVR above what the DS1621xs+ can offer in terms of NVR ?
