Never even heard of a 1200P model but no. Are you sure you don't mean the 1900P? That one can run 68U firmware as they're the same.

I too haven't heard of the router you've ordered. The RT-AC68U was already above it (if AC 1200 is a close spec).

Do not restore a backup config file from one router to another. Not even if the models are identical.

Sorry I read it as firmware. I wouldn't restore any configs. Load the latest firmware, WPS reset, configure from scratch.
