Cant add OpenVPN server users - AC66U

TomToms

New Around Here
Hi, I am running an Asus AC66U with Merlin LTS 374.43_38E3j9527 firmware. I did a complete factory rest and started form scratch. When I go to setup an OpenVPN server i am able to setup and start the server but I cannot add users. It is my understanding that the admin user for the router is added by default but even that doesn't show up for me. Has anyone come across this before? When I type in a new user and password and hit the plus button nothing happens then I try the apply button and nothing happens form that either.

Any help is appreciated.

It's the simple fixes that get you

For the MIPS routers, the admin id is no longer a valid openvpn user by default (a good thing), so I removed it from the display. Problem is that the code referenced the first row to determine attributes for subsequent rows..OK if you already had a user defined, but not good if no users defined without the admin row...argh.

I'll post a fixed release (the admin user will show as Disabled for MIPS routers) later this evening.

Sorry for the problem.

Indeed a good thing, perhaps something for Merlin to consider.
In this case, it happened to by a byproduct of me having to rewrite the auth routine for MIPS routers due to a segfault I couldn't figure out. When I get the chance to test it properly, I plan to also implement it for the ARM routers as well.
