Can't connect to services on my own network

I have 2 Asus routers running Asuswrt-Merlin: one RT-AC86U in router mode on the ground floor and one RT-AC68U in AP mode on the first floor. The weird thing is that when I try to connect to my Roomba or Nest from their respective apps my phone, I can't connect if I'm on wifi (I can actually connect to the Roomba itself, but not the iRobot cloud), but I have no problem connecting to them from outside by switching the phone to 4G.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this behavior?

Thanks for the suggestion, Airtime fairness was disabled on both routers and bands, I think this is the default setting and I haven't changed it. Should I also try to enable it?

think this wont help, but read somewhere else that there are problems to connect to devices on different bands 2G to 5G or vice versa and LAN.

So to be clear, you can't connect to the internet using your phone? Did you test dns and ping to the internet from your phone to make sure the connectivity is there?

Download the huricane electric network tools on your phone and ping your default gw and ping your dns server and let us know what happens.

default for your router should be
ping 192.168.1.1

try pinging cloudflare dns
ping 1.1.1.1

Do you have any other tools installed like aiprotection, skynet, etc on the router?

I have internet connectivity on the phone, I am just having trouble connecting to some of the devices on my network when my phone is also connected to my network. Like I can connect to my Roomba or Nest if my phone is on 4G connection, but if I try with the phone connected to WiFi the Nest app cannot connect and the iRobot app manages to connect to the Roomba, but not to the cloud. At the same time I can connect to my LIFX bulbs or the babycam with no problem from both WiFi and 4G.
I don't have AIProtection enabled and no skynet installed.
