I've bought 10ft CAT.6A 28awg Data Center patch cables. I didn't know it's very thin. It's almost 50% thinner than a normal cable. A normal CAT.6a cable's diameter is about 7.5mm. This CAT.6A 28awg patch cable has 3.7mm diameter. It works good for now. But it's too thin. Does anyone have any experience with it?

I don’t, but, I found this write up…….

The description is clear enough - patch cable. Short and data only. Not good for long runs and PoE.

I thought it's a shielded cable. Most of CAT.6a is shielded with Aluminium Foil as you know. But this one is not.
Pros: ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 Category 6 or 6A. Flexible like a fiber cable. Very thin. It can be used for high density and narrow area. Great for air flow. Looking good. Well made.
Cons: Unshielded  (3.7mm 28awg is unshielded, 4.7mm 28awg is unshielded or shielded). More expensive than a normal CAT.6a cable. 3m is over $20 each.
I'm happy that I didn't buy 32awg 2.8mm.o_O

Late to the game, but in case anyone else reads this - 6A is supposed to have foil around each pair, this is for crosstalk prevention. There is no requirement to shield the entire assembly (unless you buy STP obviously). I have heard of 6A without the foil claiming to pass the specs, but I wouldn't trust it at 10G. Nor would I trust 28AWG for long runs or POE.

Lots of stuff out there claiming to be something it is not.
