CAT5e coupler ruins CAT6 installation?

I'm installing about 40 metres CAT6 cables here. I have two 20m
which I'm connecting with each other with a coupler. Now I see -
the coupler says 5E. F-ck!!! Do I really have to find a CAT6 coupler now?
I live in a really rural area, long way to real stores. No way to find a CAT6
coupler here......

Will the 5E couple do?

It will work fine. You just might not get full Gigabit speed.
But you will certainly get over 100 Mbps if your devices can support it.

Well hmm 100mbit, was hoping for more than that, but with this coupler this is the case now? Will the connection be identified as a 100mbit or will it say 1000mbit and with maybe a LITTLE decreased throughput?

You should have no problem getting a Gigabit link rate. And you probably will not/ would not even notice any performance degradation unless you measured.

Why not just try it?

The, ur helpful. Oh I will try, I'm rigging cables as we speak. Have a good weekend :)
