Client icons not changing

Mac osx High Sierra
safari, google chrome

I can change the names and when I try to change the icon, the icon changes in the window. However when I click apply, it changes back to the default.
I have some icons that are changed to custom ones, but even when I grab those and try to attach them to a different client they don't change.

I've logged out, rebooted
What am I doing wrong?

Never mind, I did a factory reset and all works.
