Culprit from previous network protocol violation

FWIW, the headache that trashed my PC connectivity was an update to Surfshark VPN client app version 2.7.8. I was almost sure it was a windows update, but it proved the be the app instead. Fortunately they programmed a restore point into the app, so I didn't have to go back very far.

I would have posted to the original thread, but it was closed.

For just in case somebody else might have the same problems.
 
@JT Strickland, I remember reading about it, but if you could link the actual thread, that would be great. :)

For myself, this is one more reason to not trust paid-for VPN's. Anything can change at any time. Security, privacy, safety is merely an illusion with them.
