Benefits are updated software packages (fixing bugs, fixing vulnerability, improvements) and some new features such as e.g. stubby package included (DNS over TLS). So it is recommended to update.

You can download 13HF-HW for R8900 right now (HW is recommended). 13HF (software acceleration) is "under compilation". Will be published tomorrow.
