A got one! Check attach.

Power supply is 12V 2A. Not anymore 5V 3A! New chipset?

Crack it open and take some photos for us....:D

You might want to edit that photo to block out the S/N and MAC address.

Nice power cord. Does your country require an inline power switch?

Interesting. What's the FCC ID?

With the same FCC ID as the A4, I wouldn't expect more than superficial changes. Still, if you're willing to take a look inside, the differences can be identified.

Hmmm. It's hard to remove the ceramic heatsink pads and shield.

A4 prototype for comparison.

Looking over changes now; will edit post with findings.

Board is redesignated 655A4 from 855A3;
JTAG solder pads only (may never have shipped with them).
I didn't notice anything else, but sharper eyes may prevail.

The memory density could change (like 825 B1 prototype and shipping product), but I can't verify with that photo. The memory is the long, flat rectangular chip next to the central ceramic heatsink.

Memory manufacturers measure in bits (little "b"). 128 Mb = 16 MB. This is in line with with the A4 version.

i got one of these, dir 655 hw ver a5, fw ver 1.31eu -
i was wondering if you ever discovered more about the router, ie what chipset - cpu etc .. ?? happy for any info :) cheers,
