D-Link DXN-221 MoCA pair.
Works great out of the box on coax with TV + Cable Modem.
The D-Link configuration software utility does not detect the devices. Anyone know why? D-Link level 1, 2 Tech Support is still trying to find the bathroom.
DXN connected to Linksys router.
Windows XP PC connected by cat5 to same router. PC has no software firewall.
D-Link utility installed OK. Is in start menu.
When run: Pop-up says CONNECTING. A few seconds later a new pop-up says "Lost Connection...". Gee, it never had a connection.
I've tried power cycles, reboots, blah blah.
The Config switch is on.
I think the utility is using ethernet packets, not IP packets, since no where does any document mention IP addresses needed, etc.
Fortunately, the default scanning mode, etc. works so I don't yet need to use the utility.
