Device(s) are not reconnecting after reboot of router

I am rebooting my Asus RT-AX86U Pro router pretty much daily (due to a connection issue with my wifi brother printer)...

None of my non-mobile devices/tvs are reconnecting... I have to manually reconnect and often - they require I reenter my wifi password.

Since it is occurring on multiple devices (linux desktop, tv appliance, LG tvs...) - I'm wondering what these devices aren't reconnecting - even though they are all setup to autoconnect...

What firmware are you using on the router?
What are the WiFi settings? Post screen shots (redact sensitive information if possible).
Are the WiFi devices connecting to main LAN WiFi or to Guest Network Pro profile WiFi?

No issues using both latest Asus release and latest Asus-Merlin release firmware on a RT-AX86U Pro. My WiFi clients both on main LAN WiFi and Guest Network Pro profiles remain connected including a WiFi HP AIO printer.

Edit to add: Some suggestions.
Some have had to enable the option Disable 11b to fix certain client connection issues.
For the 2.4GHz it is recommended to set a fixed Control Channel (1, 6 or 11) and set Channel bandwidth to 20 MHz. Use WPA-2 Personal or WPA/WPA2-Personal for Authentication Method.
One may also try disabling 802.11ax / WiFi 6 mode if they have compatibility issues.
Try disabling Smart Connect if enabled and configure each WiFi SSID separately.

Agreed with @bennor - suggesting to use wpa2 only instead of mixed. Mixed mode can cause connectivity issues. I had connection issues with my brother Wifi printer (wifi+ethernet) on mixed mode. Setting to wpa2 only and other suggestions above should fix this disconnect with that printer. I've since moved to using the printer on ethernet (media bridge on 5ghz band with WPA3) so as to not use WPA2 encryption anywhere on my network.

I am on Merlin 3006.102.7.2

As I was looking at the screenshots of my wifi settings - and reading your suggestions... I've made the following changes:

- Turned Off Smart Connect - and named my SSIDs separate for 2.4ghz and 5ghz.. since I have 2 routers (main and mesh AP) - I would see 4 ssids when trying to reconnect... (2 x 2.4ghz and 2 x 5ghz)... so this way I can connect directly to the properly named SSID... I wonder if things were getting 'confused' when it would try to reconnect automatically??

I also disabled 11b mode (both the checkbox to disable 11b and changed 11b mode to disabled.

For now will leave 802.11ax / WiFi 6 mode ON - as I do have some wifi 6 devices...

I use MAC filtering to drive my devices to 5ghz... (screenshot attached) (though with separate ssids now - I can shut that off...)

I'll add the update screenshots of my wifi PRO settings...

Turning off the SmartConnect is not going to help. You are best to quit fooling with the WIFI settings so much. Go back to mostly default WIFI but set the 2.4 GHz to 20 MHz and the 5 GHz to 80 MHz with no DFS channels. Use WPA2-Personal. Set the AP up as an AiMesh node and let the clients figure out where they want to connect. The Asus algorithm will try to use the 5 GHz when possible.
If you are having issues with Merlin go back to Asus firmware. It is working very well for me!
