Diversion Diversion - Alternate blocking list

Hi,
From reading all the information about it I'm still not sure what the benefits to using the Alternate blocking list option are in Diversion?

Could someone explain please?

To segregate the level of what and how much is being blocked. While one blocking file is the default for all devices, the alternate file can be used for a specific list of devices.

Is there anything that needs to be changed in Diversion once activated?
I installed uDivStats and it appears to show that Diversion is working, but when I visit a site like speedtest.net, I see ads littered all along the screen.
