Do I get my 2.4GHZ and 5GHz settings about right?

I attached my settings for 2.4GHz and 5GHz, under General and Professional.

I've 2 T-Mobile LG GPad X 8.0 (or GPad 8.0 III in Canada) and 2 LG G6, both have "n" and "ac", but somehow the GPad always prefers the 2.4GHz with link speed of only 72 Mbps and the G6 prefers the 5GHz with link speed of between 360 to 870 Mbps, the minimum link speed of the Lg G6 when connected to the 2.4Ghz is 144 Mbps.

Ben, the changes that I would recommend would be as follows:
  • On the 2.4GHz band, General, change Wireless Mode to Auto, from N Only.
  • On the 2.4GHz band, Professional, change the Explicit Beamforming Mode to Enable.
  • On the 5GHz band, General, change Wireless Mode to Auto, from N/AC Mixed.
  • On the 5GHz band, Professional, change the 802.11ac Beamforming to Enable.
I would also suggest that you use an SSID beginning with a letter, but there is no need to change if it is currently working for you.

Make sure you have set Enable WPS to Off in the WPS tab too. ;)

And it is worth to double and triple check that the Enable SSH option is set to LAN only.

Also, make sure that the Enable SSH Brute Force Protection is also set to Yes.

Also, check that the Enable Web Access from WAN is also set to No.

Looking pretty good otherwise Ben_! :)

And keep in mind that the suggestions above are a starting point. If your particular network and client devices need something adjusted off of these suggested defaults, please feel free to experiment and change as necessary. Share what you've learned here so others can benefit too!

As for your specific devices and their preferences, I would make that choice myself depending on which band gave me the smoothest and most responsive internet connection. Once you determine which band that is, I would either 'forget' the other band on that client device, or, I would change the connection to not allow it to connect automatically.

I don't know how I missed this post yesterday? Hope you're good now! :)
