Does any NAS support automatic offsite backup/sync?

For our older Linux file server, we use rsync and cron jobs at midnight to perform backups to an offsite file server over a VPN link. I am thinking about a NAS for replacement, and I would like to have similar capability in terms of regularly scheduled backups.

Do any of the NAS solutions have a similar capability to do regular backups over a network?

Yup. All QNAP and Synology NASes and NETGEAR ReadyNASes can all do scheduled backups via rsync.
