Does Entware survive firmware upgrades?

Hi,

I'm planning to upgrade the firmware on my router and even though I've done this a few times before I had never previously done this with Entware setup and multiple packages installed. I guess my question is following the upgrade will

1. Entware and installed packages on USB continue to function normally?
2. Do I have to do a fresh Entware install and reinstall all packages?
3. Is it possible to backup and then restore Entware?

Entware won't be affected by a firmware upgrade, however make sure you keep a backup of the JFFS partition, especially if you have an RT-N66U, as there is a chance that the scripts related to Entware might be lost in the upgrade.
