EA-N66 : recovery mode issue

hi all, iam unable to get the EA-N66 to go into recovery mode. Despite following the instructions to hold down the button under the unit repower then releasing the button.

any ideas?

Maybe you need to hold the button for longer?

" To put the EA-N66 in recovery mode, disconnect power from the router first, then hold the reset button (pinhole button below the EA-N66) while powering on.

The antenna lights will slowly alternate between dim and bright to signal that the router is waiting for a firmware to be uploaded. "

I have tried this and it does not seem to work. the blue LED stays solid not blinking or going dim no matter what I seem to do.

Any other ideas to reset?
