EA-N66 - Single client or multiple

Does the Ethernet mode works like a wireless bridge? ( Ie, capable of giving connectivity to more than 1 device by using a switch )
or it is limited to a single device?

Should work as a bridge. I did not verify this, however.

sorry to revive this..
but I now have my glorious BLACK KNIGHT installed along a EA-N66
replacing my aging DIR-655 + DAP 1522.

It works very well in bridge mode..
except one question..

the EA-N66
unlike the DAP-1522.. seems to use some sort of "mac cloning" in bridge mode.
Ie, I cant see the EA-N66 in the network list, but I can see my playstation 3!
and every time I turn on and off the PS3 gets IP, yet the EA-N66 doesnt seem to be using anything! (I find this strange, as I'm used to see my DAP-1522's WEBGUI available anytime)

anyone can confirm this is the usual behavior of the EA-N66 adapter?

(ps, I can finally stream movies thru wifi to my PS3, I couldn't do it with my DIR655+dap1522)

If you are using the EA-N66 in Adapter mode it doesn't show up on your client list, but you can still access it by using either 10.0.1.1 or www.asusnetwork.net. Keep in mind that asusnetwork.net will only go to the EA-N66 if it's directly connected. Otherwise, it will connect to your other router(s).

thanks Jeremy..

question..
is there a way to change this ip to match my local area network (working with a RT-N66U)?

Anyone had issues with the EA-N66 in adapter mode?

Recently it dropped my ethernet connection to it down to 10 MB/s... I've checked everything and double checked everything and went through all the settings on my ethernet adapter, but haven't seen anything noticable.

damaged cable perhaps?

also did you check if your computer or the device that is connecting to it.. is not set to 10Mbps?

In Ethernet Adapter mode, no. If you change to Repeater mode then you can do it.

thanks again Jeremy.
as per my question to Merlin.. I suppose there is no problem on using a Switch to get more devices with the EA-N66 ?
because he(Merlin) didn't seem very sure about this.

Tried different cables, ethernet drivers (Intel) up-to-date. Settings are all good, not set to manual 10Mbps... straight to router 1000Mbps.

I just hooked up my new EA-N66 (Bridge mode) to my D-Link DGS-2205 5-port Gigabit Ethernet Switch yesterday. I spent a few hours trying to get this configuration to work but to no avail. The EA-N66 works great hooked directly to a "client" device. It's a shame because I purchased this over other devices based on feedback from people who bought it both on this forum and e-tailer sites that said they hooked it up to multiple client devices through a switch. I am guessing these people were using a router as a switch and not a true switch.

If anyone has gotten this configuration to work, please point me in the right direction. My research thus far has found no solution.

Regards,

Paul
