I connected my external HDD a few weeks ago to my n66u (stock firmware) and all was well. I could connect from my laptop, tablet, iPhone with no problem. Last week in a meeting I opened the app on my tablet to show someone a file and lo and behold I couldn't see the drive. I can get to it via the cloud address, but its no longer listed on my network. Therefore I can't backup to it or do all of the other sharing stuff I used to do from my home office.
I've been to ASUS support, I've read the forum here; so far I haven't found an answer. I updated the firmware a few days ago. I rebooted. I did everything but a reset. I don't have time or inclination to do any custom firmware. I tried Tomato the first day I got the router, but I had no clue what I was doing and I was afraid that I was leaving everything exposed. I just don't have time to learn how to do it right.
Any thoughts?
