(Flashing Problem) I'm either being really stupid, or something isn't working right!

Hi,

New to the forums and I am trying to update to Merlins firmware. The thing is, when I try to upload the firmware via the web interface, everything seems to be going OK, the router resets, but then it goes back to the original Asus firmware with Merlins no where is sight!

Any body else has this problem?

Reboot the router without any USB disk plugged in, to ensure you aren't running out of memory while flashing. Also double check the firmware model you are flashing, and make sure you unzipped it first.

Thanks for the quick reply! Just on the off chance I actually renamed the file extension to .bin and it worked!? would not work with .trx file at all. Is that normal?

All I could see would be a security software installed interfering with TRX files.

You'll know it's Merlin's running when bits start falling off your GUI
