I am dyeing to try my GT-BE98PRO Router currently on FW_GT_BE98_PRO_3006_10237839 to the Merlin release GT-BE98_PRO_3006_102.4_0.

latest stock on GPL 37839, Merlin is on GPL 37346. There is quite a difference in build numbers. Are the wireless drivers different?
Are all the security fixes up to date on both firmwares? Basicly just asking if going to Merlin on a much lower GPL will make any difference?

No. Yes. No.

I assume Merlin has the Adguard built in like stock, right?

CC
No. But you can use the built-in "amtm" to install that.

The 3006.102.4 Asus-Merlin on a RT-AX86U Pro has AdGuard DNS server's listed in the WAN DNS Server list. It also lists AdGuard in Guest Network Pro. See attached examples. Or as previously suggested one can install the AdGuard addon script through AMTM.

Can you check under Parental Controls is there an Adguard Tab?

I just did a dirty upgrade from the latest Asus stock to Merlin, no reset. So far working perfectly. Is a reset mandatory? All the Networks seem to be running perfectly. Please advise.

Stock Asus 3006 firmware flash to Asus-Merlin 3006 firmware, a reset probably isn't necessary, unless specifically recomended in the firmware change log or by RMerlin, unless one experiences issues post firmware flash. Going from 3004 to 3006 firmware a reset might be advisable due to the changes (new features) in 3006.
