Release GNUton Asus Merlin 3004.388.9_2-gnuton1

3004.388.9_2-gnuton1

Latest

GNUton's Asus Merlin changelog

Date: June 24, 2025
Release: 3004.388.9_2-gnuton1

  • UPDATED: Merlin baseline to 3004.388.9_2
  • REMOVED: TUF UI images

I upgraded firmware on one AX92U and three XT8/AX95Q's from 3004.388.8_4-gruton1.
So far all is running well.
Working on my aimesh using 4 XT8 routers.

Wired aimesh ax58uv2 node doesn't connect to any wifi clients, flashing node with vanilla or previous version resolves the issue. Main ax58uv2 seems fine.

I also did the upgrade on my two XT8/AX95Q's. Initially it seemed to work well. But unfortunately I still struggle with lacking connection stability on my 2.4 Ghz units. Not even regular reboots are enough to make things run smoothly. So I'm all the way back to RT-AX95Q_388.2_2_0-gnuton1_puresqubi.w for now. Hoping for some serious stability upgrades soon. I've heard that people have good experiences running the latest official firmware from Asus. But since I have a lot of customized settings in my current setup - it need better time to do a switch to the official firmware if I end up going in that direction.
Best regards
Kristian

RT-AX82U and have similiar issues. Original firmware 3.0.0.4.388_25024 and 29 - same problems (solved in 35). Many iot devices had issues with connection (samsung, nintendo, google, hp). Only mesh node connected via ethernet is affected, mesh router works fine.
