Good Mesh Node for my setup

I currently have an RT-AX86U Pro and would like to add one mesh node since I've moved to a larger place.

What would be a good node OR should I get a new main router and use the 86U as the node. I can backhaul via ethernet.

TIA

Get another AX86U Pro. Amazon has had them on sale recently. A refurbished one would be good, too.

If you're ready to invest, it might be worth future-proofing the setup with a new BE router. Of course, that depends on your budget. If you're looking to save, a used AX router from eBay could still be a solid upgrade without breaking the bank.

No future-proofing with home routers. Just overpaying for features non needed in near future.

This router is only partially compatible with AiMesh features available on RT-AX86U Pro. No Guest Network Pro support nor VLAN to node LAN port.
I didn't know that, regarding Guest Network Pro

It's a feature which I use, but my AX82U node is quite far away from any device which would use it, so I haven't noticed!

Most customers don’t know because Asus advertises everything as AiMesh Compatible without too much details.
