Google Location Server and _nomap

Hi all,
A couple years ago Google graciously (but very quietly) offered home wi-fiers to opt out of their fishing trips by appending _nomap to the SSID. Does anyone know if this is still a thing? I can't find any recent discussion of it here or anywhere else on the tubes.

It’s still there on their help pages. I never knew about this. But I don’t want a longer SSID either.
