Google OnHub/ Wifi or an Asus RT-AC1900p for wired gigabit network

Jeremy Norris

New Around Here
I apologize if this has been answered before, but I'm a bit of rookie when it comes to routers and networking.

I currently own an Onhub (TP-Link), which has served me well since it came out but recently I've been having issues (speed drops, freezing, port forwarding not working correctly, etc..) and was thinking of switching to an Asus.

I have gigabit service and most of my devices are wired, but I was wondering if Asus' AC1900p or better would be a better fit for my setup.

around 30 devices are currently connected to my router including...

-Plex Media Server serving several rooms
-4 gaming consoles, streaming devices, Hue, etc..

Would I see a performance increase, and if so any Asus model recommendations?

Thank you very much for the help

I have a 68U and it handles my gigabit connection (940 Mbps WAN <--> LAN) albeit maxing out core 1 when running speedtests. I only have a handful of wired devices and a couple of wireless devices. With the extra horsepower of the 1900P I think you would be ok.
