All was working well for me for the past multiple weeks with 14_2, but this morning when I tried to get into the GUI, I was only getting partial displays of the GUI webpages. Then, the GUI stopped responding completely. But ssh was working, and the router was communicating to the WAN, so I was able to browse. So I ssh'ed in, did a:
service restart_httpd
but that was no help. Rebooted. After a few minutes, GUI was working again, but going to the VPN menu caused only a partial display of that page. Rebooted again, but this time, I waited ~15 min before doing anything. And I cleared the cache of my browser. These seemed to help. Later, I updated all the scripts to amtm 3.1.0, ntpMerlin, Entware, etc, then rebooted. But am still getting partial display of GUI webpages.

BTW, when the GUI gets into this state, the nvram get http_enable value is 1, so that is no help in determining when the GUI goes south.

Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? What is the fix?

This has happened to me many times over different firmwares and browsers. Never could isolate the source of the problem thou I’m on macOS & iOS mostly (if facing the issue, I’d log in from my phone and that would usually be fine.) The only way I’ve found to fix it (not always thou) would be to clear history, clear cache and waiting before logging back in again. Sometimes a reboot too. But the waiting usually seemed to do the trick.

Never could figure it out thou it has been awhile since I’ve really faced this issue.

Sorry I’m not much help, hope you’re able to sort this out.

I had the same happen to me this morning. First time ever. I finally uninstalled uiScribe and the web interface returned to normal functioning. Never had this issue before. I have been running uiScribe for a long time.

I also had to uninstall Scribe too. I noticed my logs had not updated since before 10:00 am this morning. Now my log is current and updating activity. Strange......

I think I figured it out. I had been running Unbound and had installed Scribe support to show Unbound logs in uiScribe. I no longer run Unbound. I uninstalled Scribe and uiScribe, then reinstalled both. Now things are back to working properly.

@Smokey613 if I remember, you're also running unbound_manager, correct?

I was.... I uninstall Unbound completely for the time being. I have high hopes the project will continue and eventually become a package included in amtm. If I was the only person using my network I would still be testing it.

It happened to me this morning also. I think something wasn't able to phone home... How could it happen to so many of us at the same time?

@Smokey613 I understand your concern, but this is what fixed it for me (third link below).

While the above isn't a full endorsement from the current team (@Jack Yaz and @Martineau), the integrity and the previous works of all concerned speaks volumes and supports my high hopes. :)

The only issue/question I have today is should the unbound logs be empty in the GUI? Since re-installing from last Saturday I don't have a single entry logged. :p

What should be in the unbound logs for me to see? :)

What should be in the unbound logs for me to see?
Code:
Jan 31 10:45:02 RT-AC5300-0680 (unbound_manager): 14888 Starting Script Execution (menu)
Feb 1 20:34:40 RT-AC5300-0680 S61unbound: Starting Unbound DNS server /opt/etc/init.d/S61unbound
Feb 1 20:41:31 RT-AC5300-0680 S61unbound: Starting Unbound DNS server /opt/etc/init.d/S61unbound
Feb 2 11:10:49 RT-AC5300-0680 (unbound_manager): 25557 Starting Script Execution (menu)
Feb 2 11:11:00 RT-AC5300-0680 S61unbound: Starting Unbound DNS server /opt/etc/init.d/S61unbound
Feb 3 10:49:25 RT-AC5300-0680 (unbound_manager.sh): 7552 Starting Script Execution (menu)
Feb 3 10:50:05 RT-AC5300-0680 S61unbound: Starting Unbound DNS server /opt/etc/init.d/S61unbound
Feb 3 18:57:17 RT-AC5300-0680 S61unbound: Starting Unbound DNS server /opt/etc/init.d/S61unbound
Feb 3 18:59:58 RT-AC5300-0680 S61unbound: Starting Unbound DNS server /opt/etc/init.d/S61unbound

If you stop or restart unbound then you will get a correszponding entry as per above. If you dont get that in scribe THEN check your Unbound filter at /opt/etc/syslog-ng.d/ make sure file permissions is set at OCTAL 0600. ( use winSCP)

Update: As Smokey had done, I uninstalled Scribe which also uninstalled uiScribe. Rebooted. Things were still wonky, so I let it sit overnight. Now it seems the GUI is mostly working, except for the graphs in the NTP and Uptime screens. The text of the scales on the left are cutoff.

I tried doing a uf from AMTM for both ntpMerlin and connmon, but no change. I'll try some more uninstall, reboot, reinstall sequences to see if that fixes it.

ChatmanR is right. This event seemed to happen to a bunch of us. What happened?

My addons tab in the router gui disappeared, more or less concurrently with installing unbound Manager. Speedtest script still runs from amtm, but I want to access the graph. Any ideas for debugging?
