Bought a RT-N56U Asus router and followed the guidelines below to use it as my wireless network:

One of the problems I had originally was the actiontec fios router had very poor signal. I installed the Asus and expected it to be great, but it's just a little better. Good enough to be happy with the purchase but is there any way to increase the signal further? Would custom firmware do anything? I'm using it right out of the box so I haven't messed with "tomato" or anything like that.
Thoughts?
