Hitron CGN3 Speed & Throughput issues..

New Around Here
Hi there. New to posting here, so bear with me.

Much like this post (http://forums.smallnetbuilder.com/showthread.php?t=14670), I recently upgraded my internet through Rogers (Canadian ISP) only to find out I needed to get rid of my Cisco gateway (don't know the model) that was running flawlessly in bridge mode. My previous setup (before the 'upgrade' and problems) consisted of:
Cisco Gateway(Bridge Mode) > D-Link DIR-615 > D-Link WBR-1310
This setup would run my internet connection, being 60mbps down and 10mbps up, perfectly. The majority of the file transfers were done through the WBR-1310 and no speed issues occurred.

Anyways, upon upgrading the service to unlimited data usage, Rogers told us we would have to obtain a new modem, as the one we had been using wasn't 'supported'. Okay, cool, I didn't mind. So, we drove the 45 minutes to pick up the new Hitron gateway and bring it home. Upon setting it up though, and placing it into bridge mode, we ran into nothing but trouble. We learned that any output from the ethernet ports on the Hitron gateway, either in bridged mode or standard gateway mode, that was passed through a router was literally cut in half in terms of speed. The speed tests would clock in at about 32mbps down and 10mbps up. I then put the gateway back to its default gateway state and ran a wired speedtest directly from the gateway. The speeds were around 68mbps down and about 12mbps up.

I'd managed to narrow it down to fact that the routers were somehow throttling the connection as even the 150ft ethernet cable that ran from the DIR-615 to the WBR-1310 had no issues on a computer at the other end when connected directly to the Hitron gateway. I've tried running the connection through the DIR-615, a WBR-1310, and a DIR-632, all with the same results. Based on the other post I had mentioned earlier, I had assumed that maybe hw/nat acceleration or maybe the jumbo frames would help, but none of the routers have the ability to do that. Both DIR series routers are on the latest DD-WRT as well.

I'm not really sure what to do here. I get my advertised speed, but only through Hitron's terrible little gateway. Should I invest in a cheap gigabit switch? I should also mention that each router and the gateway have been factory reset countless times.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks guys!
